The 2026 Little League World Series is underway again on Friday, and the day was highlighted by an electrifying performance from Cooper Thissen, who dominated both on the mound and at the plate for Davenport Northwest.

Thissen, the left-handed ace representing the Midwest Region, struck out 15 batters and allowed no hits or runs during his 85-pitch limit.

His performance on the mound helped Davenport Northwest maintain control through the game. Once he reached his pitch count, Thissen transitioned to first base for the remainder of the game. Little League regulations allow a maximum of 85 pitches per day per pitcher, a safeguard designed to protect players.

Making his presence felt at the plate as well, Thissen led off the bottom of the first inning with a powerful home run to center field, giving the Midwest Region an early lead that it held for the entire game.

Thanks to Thissen’s overall performance, the Midwest Region edged the West Region 1-0.
