Indiana’s 2027 recruiting class added another piece on Sunday, and it didn’t come without pressure. Brady Scott—the 6-foot, 195-pound three-star defensive back from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts—announced his commitment to the Hoosiers.

Scott’s pledge made Indiana’s ninth known commitment in the 2027 cycle. He chose Indiana over a long list of Power Four programs that included Vanderbilt. UCLA. Iowa. Louisville. Penn State. Wisconsin. Rutgers. Maryland. Georgia Tech. Syracuse. Kentucky. Virginia Tech. Wake Forest. Duke. Boston College. and Minnesota. among others.

The recruitment moved beyond a single visit or a short flirtation. Scott made multiple trips to Bloomington, with Indiana hosting him several times during the spring. That included an official visit in late April.

In the rankings, Scott is viewed as a major safety prospect. The Rivals Industry Rankings list him as the No. 525 overall player in the 2027 class and the No. 49 safety nationally. He’s also ranked among the top players in Massachusetts, with listings as high as No. 4 in the state and No. 5 by 247Sports.

Indiana’s interest centers on safety, but they weren’t chasing him for one role only. The Hoosiers plan to recruit Scott primarily as a safety. while his versatility also played a major part in the staff’s attention. He has experience throughout the secondary and has also contributed on offense as a wide receiver. Indiana’s plan is to make use of that flexibility at the next level.

On the field at Tabor Academy, Scott backed up the two-way profile with numbers that fit a defensive back resume. During the 2025 season, he finished with 59 tackles, seven pass breakups, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Over the last three years, he has accumulated more than 150 tackles and seven interceptions.

Scott is also more than a one-sport prospect. He is a multi-sport athlete who has competed in lacrosse and track, and his commitment gives Indiana a growing class now featuring nine commitments. At the time of his pledge, Indiana is ranked No. 42 nationally.

Just as important for the Hoosiers’ near-term planning, Scott becomes the second safety commitment in the 2027 class. That adds another dynamic defensive back to Curt Cignetti’s future roster plans—another player in a class that keeps finding ways to fill needs and keep momentum rolling.
