That’s where fuel rewards programs come in. They’re built to reward you for paying at specific brands. often through apps. loyalty IDs entered at the pump. or barcode scans at checkout. In 2026. the programs that stand out are the ones that make discounts straightforward and rewards usable—not buried behind complicated requirements.

BP and Amoco offer points plus per-gallon savings through BP Earnify. The program lets you save 5 cents per gallon when you pay with the app. swipe a linked payment card. or enter a loyalty ID tied to a linked phone number at the pump. On top of that. it pays 1 point per dollar spent on fuel and 2 points per dollar spent at the convenience store. Points can be redeemed for savings at the pump or in-store. and users report that 200 points can often be redeemed for a $2 discount on fuel or in-store purchases. There’s a catch: points typically expire after three months of account inactivity.

Casey’s Rewards is designed for frequent stops at the same kind of place road trippers tend to love. At Casey’s stations, drivers earn 5 points per gallon. For in-store or online orders, the program earns 10 points per dollar. Casey’s also gives double points on all whole pizzas from Casey’s. New members get 10 cents off per gallon on their first fuel purchase, up to 20 gallons. Redemption options include using 250 points for $1 in Casey’s Cash. a fuel discount of 5 cents per gallon on up to 20 gallons in a single purchase. or a $1 donation to a local school. Points expire if you don’t make a Casey’s Rewards purchase for a year. but redeemed rewards like Casey’s Cash and fuel discounts expire 30 days after you earn them.

If you want something that feels more like a standard earn-and-redeem loyalty scheme, Chevron Texaco Rewards fits the bill. It offers 5 points per gallon of Chevron or Texaco fuel when purchases are made via the app or when your account phone number is entered at the pump or in-store. New members also get 25 cents off per gallon on their first five visits. You can redeem points for discounts on qualifying fuel purchases at participating locations—up to 500 points for 50 cents off per gallon on up to 25 gallons in a single purchase. Shelling out 25 gallons while redeeming 500 points works out to 2.5 cents per point. Rewards expire after 90 days of account inactivity.

Circle K Inner Circle Rewards takes a different approach: it focuses on simpler savings and everyday perks. Joining provides 25 cents per gallon off your first five fuel-ups at participating Circle K stations. After that. members save 3 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per day if they spend less than $500 on gas at participating Circle K stations per year; if they spend $500 or more. it jumps to 5 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per day. Members can also buy Polar Pop drinks—up to 44 ounces—for 79 cents. and can take part in member challenges available on the website or app. Those challenges offer gas savings when you hit specific thresholds or goals.

Exxon Mobil Rewards+ is built for drivers who buy both gas and other stuff while they’re already stopping. It offers 3 points per gallon on regular gas and 6 points per gallon on premium fuel. plus 2 points per dollar spent on other purchases at participating Exxon and Mobil stations. AARP members earn an additional point per gallon at the pump and per dollar in the store. Frequent Filler members earn an additional point per

gallon at the pump and 2 points per dollar in-store; Frequent Filler status requires buying 100 or more gallons of Synergy fuel in either the current or previous calendar month. Adding your birthday to your profile earns 100 bonus points each year on your first eligible purchase in your birth month. Each point is worth 1 cent, and it’s redeemable for savings in-store or at the pump. Redemption must be at least 100 points at

a time. and unredeemed points expire at the end of the calendar year after the one in which they were earned—so points earned in 2026 expire on Dec. 31, 2027.

For drivers who do their grocery shopping at Kroger brands, Kroger Fuel Points can be a quiet powerhouse. The program lets you earn at more than 20 regional brands in the Kroger family of stores. including Ralphs. Fred Meyer. King Soopers and Harris Teeter. It includes 1 point per dollar spent on most groceries. plus specific prescription earns: 25 points per non-federally-funded prescription filled. 1 point per dollar on out-of-pocket costs for federally funded prescriptions. and 75 points per 90-day prescription filled. You can also earn 2 points per dollar spent on select gift cards. plus points through qualifying activities with participating Kroger Play brands or via promotional Fuel Events.

At the pump side, the fuel savings works in two ways. You get a 3 cents-per-gallon discount when filling at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers if you don’t redeem points. If you do redeem. you can get 10 cents off per gallon at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers and participating Shell locations. for a single fill-up of unleaded. midgrade. premium. diesel or E85 fuel of up to 35 gallons—redeeming 100 points. The redemption cap is 1. 000 points per transaction at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers. while each redemption at participating Shell locations is capped at 100 points. Points expire at the end of the month following the one in which you earn them.

Love’s Rewards is built around frequent drivers and the reality that road stops can be more predictable than they are romantic. Love’s Rewards has separate paths for casual (nonprofessional) drivers and professional drivers. but for casual drivers. the program earns when you scan your barcode at the pump or inside the store: 1 point per gallon of fuel and 2 points per dollar spent in-store. There are also 2 additional points per dollar spent on Love’s-branded items and freshly made meals and snacks. The savings are immediate—Love’s Rewards members get 10 cents per gallon on gas and up to 25 cents per gallon on auto diesel. Members also benefit from a buy-four, earn-one promotion on any size fountain or coffee drink.

You can redeem Love’s Rewards points at 1 cent each toward food, drinks and in-store merchandise and at Love’s-owned restaurants. Points expire after six months without earning or redemption transactions.

Shell Fuel Rewards, however, is the one drivers talk about most when they want to stack discounts. Shell Fuel Rewards savings are limited to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase. per vehicle. but the program’s status system changes the discount rate. Members start at Silver status, saving 3 cents per gallon. Gold members save 5 cents per gallon, and Platinum members save 10 cents per gallon.

Status is earned by filling up a set number of times in a qualification period. Gold status requires filling six times with main-grade fuel or three times with Shell V-Power premium gasoline within each three-month qualification period. Platinum status requires 12 fills with main-grade fuel or six fills with Shell V-Power premium gasoline. Each fill-up must be at least 10 gallons to count toward earning status.

Eric Rosen. a TPG principal spokesperson. says he likes getting up to a 15-cents-per-gallon discount each Tuesday by stacking the weekly T-Mobile Tuesdays discount (a code worth 5 cents off per gallon for up to 20 gallons) with Shell Fuel Rewards status (which gives up to a 10-cents-per-gallon discount).

Beyond the pump, Shell Fuel Rewards can add fuel discounts via other spending. You can earn additional fuel discounts when you make in-store purchases at Shell stations. dine at participating restaurants and pay with a linked card—a 10 cents-per-gallon discount for every $50 spent. You can also shop with a linked participating grocery loyalty program (including Giant Flexible Rewards. Stop & Shop Go Rewards. Save Mart Rewards. Lucky Rewards and Hy-Vee Perks). Linking your AAA or AARP membership saves 5 cents per gallon on fill-ups. Through the end of 2026. new Shell Fuel Rewards members who sign up through a special offer get 10 cents-per-gallon discount on their first fill-up. 20 cents-per-gallon on their second fill-up and 30 cents-per-gallon on their third fill-up. with all three fill-ups required within 60 days of signing up.

Speedway Speedy Rewards puts the focus on points that can be turned into various perks. Speedway Speedy Rewards lets you earn 10 points per gallon of fuel and 20 points per dollar spent on merchandise. with bonus points on select items each month through special deals found on the website or app. The value depends on redemption. Options include redeeming 1. 000 points for any size fountain drink. a Speedy Freeze or a Speedy Cafe Large Pizza; 4. 375 points for a 25-cents-per-gallon discount on fuel; or 30. 000 points for a $25 Amazon gift card. Points expire once your account is inactive for at least nine months.

Sunoco Go Rewards is strictly app-based for fuel discounts, but it can be sharp when you set it up. The program saves 3 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per transaction when you pay for fuel through the Sunoco app. For a limited time. you can save 13 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per transaction when you link your bank account in the Sunoco Go Rewards app. set Sunoco Pay as your preferred payment method. and purchase fuel using your linked bank account. There are also opportunities to earn discounts on gas when you use your favorite grocery store’s loyalty card at the pump. but Sunoco Go Rewards won’t provide value unless you’re willing to pay for fuel through its app.

At 7-Eleven, 7Rewards keeps things simple. Members get a 3 cents per gallon discount on gas when they press the 7Rewards button at the pump and enter their phone number before fueling. New and existing members can also unlock additional fuel savings opportunities. TPG editor-in-chief Nick Ewen says he signed up for text messages and gets discounts at least a couple times a month; last Thursday. he received a text offering 11 cents off per gallon on his next two fill-ups. He activated it and only has to punch in his cell number at the pump.

7Rewards also offers store-only earning: members can earn 10 7Rewards points per dollar spent on select in-store purchases at 7-Eleven stations (excluding fuel) by scanning their 7Rewards barcode or entering the phone number registered to their 7Rewards account at checkout. Points can only be redeemed for in-store purchases—not fuel—and they expire if you don’t earn or redeem points for 90 days. Points are worth 0.1 cents each, so 1,000 points can get you $1 off an in-store purchase.

The common thread is convenience—and the best programs are often the ones you can use without thinking. Fuel discounts can stack through eligibility, status tiers, linked cards, and app-based payments. A Shell driver can add weekly savings and linked-card purchases. while a Kroger shopper can turn grocery spending and prescriptions into pump discounts. The systems differ. but the goal stays the same: lower the per-gallon hit you feel after the miles are already behind you.

If you’re trying to make one decision before the next fill-up, start with your usual stops. Most fuel rewards programs either save money on fuel or help you earn rewards on fuel purchases—sometimes both. The ability to stack discounts is part of why Shell Fuel Rewards is popular. but the easiest route is often enrolling in the programs tied to the gas stations you already visit. For road trips. choosing one or two programs that cover enough stations along your route and match the services you use can make the biggest difference.
