Dutton Ranch debuts May 15: nine episodes, finale July 3

Yellowstone fans have been buzzing since Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser returned in the new spin-off Dutton Ranch, which launched on Paramount+ with a two-episode premiere on May 15. The series follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they relocate to Texas following a devastating event at their Montana home. Together with adopted son Carter (Finn Little), they must rebuild their lives from scratch. The drama features compelling new characters including vet Everett McKinney (Ed Harris) and rival rancher Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening). Paramount+’s synopsis
promises: “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities.” The first series comprises nine episodes, each running 45-60 minutes. Episodes air weekly on Fridays, with the season finale scheduled for July 3. No confirmation has been given yet about whether a second series will follow but given the success of the first season, there is hope for fans. The show was filmed in Ferris, Texas, with production beginning in
August 2025. The synopsis teased: “In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.” Additional cast members include Juan Pablo Raba as Joaquin Jackson Reyes, Jai Courtney as Rob-Will Jackson, J.R. Villarreal as Azul Ramos, Marc Menchaca as Zachariah Moss and Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana Lynn Jackson, Carter’s love interest. Dutton Ranch, Yellowstone spin-off, Paramount+, May 15 premiere, nine episodes, Fridays, July 3 finale, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler, Finn Little, Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Ferris Texas
Nine episodes… that feels like way too short for them to finish anything.
Wait it’s premiering May 15?? I thought Yellowstone ended already lol. Rip in Texas just sounds wrong but also I’m gonna watch anyway.
So they relocate to Texas after the “devastating event” in Montana and now we get 45-60 min episodes on Fridays… ok but are they still in the same timeline? Like did Beth already lose everyone or is this prequel stuff? Also Ed Harris as a vet?? I heard Annette Bening is the main villain already but not sure if that’s even true.
Ferris Texas??? That’s like an hour from where my cousin lives, so maybe we’ll see them film again. I don’t get why it takes 9 episodes to rebuild their life from scratch. Paramount+ better not cancel this midway like they always do, and “forgiveness is fleeting” sounds dramatic in the worst way.
