Hot, humid UFC White House event set amid lawsuit
A federal lawsuit filed June 6 seeks to halt UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, while event organizers press ahead with a forecast of extreme heat and humidity. The main card is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 14, streamed on Paramount+.
A planned Saturday-night showdown at the White House is picking up a new fight of its own in federal court.
A lawsuit seeking to stop UFC Freedom 250 was filed in Washington, D.C., federal court on June 6. The event is expected to draw thousands of fans to the White House grounds, with organizers warning that the atmosphere will be punishingly hot and humid.
Around 4,300 spectators will be able to watch the bouts ringside from the South Lawn of the White House. Another 85,000 tickets have been distributed for a giant viewing party at the nearby Ellipse, where fans will watch the fights on large screens.
The forecast calls for summer conditions that could test even the most patient crowds. The day of the event is expected to reach a high of 93°F and drop to a low of 71°F. Organizers are urging attendees to stay weather-aware, even as meteorologists predict only a slight chance of rain.
A key safety rule is tied to lightning. If lightning is detected within eight miles of the South Lawn, officials will enforce a prompt 30-minute evacuation to protect the crowd.
Rain or shine, UFC Chief Executive Dana White says the event will proceed as scheduled.
The UFC Freedom 250 card is set to unfold over the afternoon. Preliminary and undercard bouts are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET, with the action building throughout the day. The main card, featuring seven fights, is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

The schedule is clear; the legal fight is not. With the lawsuit now filed in federal court after the June 6 filing, the showdown will extend beyond the cage—at least for now—while organizers prepare for a crowded, outdoor crowd under extreme summer heat.

Why would they do this in the White House if it’s gonna be 90+? Like can’t they reschedule it for cooler weather?
I’m confused… is this the same thing as the lawsuit about the fight being “too violent” or is it about the weather? Either way Dana White always says it’s fine until someone faints.
So they filed a lawsuit to stop it but it’s still happening? That’s kinda how America is now I guess. Also lightning within 8 miles?? So if the clouds look funny they just pack everyone up??
Paramount+ at the White House, 4,300 ringside, and 85,000 watching at the Ellipse… that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen in humidity. My cousin said the lawsuit is probably because UFC pays off the officials or something, idk. But if it hits 98 on Friday, people are gonna act surprised and start complaining after they’re already there. They should’ve moved it indoors or at least not scheduled it for peak summer.
