STORMS LATER TODAY
It’s hot this afternoon, but a few storms have started to develop in the Hill Country and are gradually pushing south. Odds of seeing rain sit at 40% for most of the San Antonio area. This should bring relief from the heat. Storms will wind down after sunset.
LOW SEVERE RISK
A severe storm or two cannot be ruled out. Strong, gusty winds from a dying thunderstorm are the biggest risk. Secondarily, lightning is possible with any storm. This potentially could affect high school football and any outdoor activities during the late afternoon and evening hours.
LUNAR ECLIPSE
Tonight, a partial lunar eclipse will take place. Cloud cover will be off and on, but the eclipse should be visible for a time tonight. The moon will take on a reddish glow and can be seen with the naked eye. Peak time of this is 11:12 pm.
EXTENDED FORECAST
Tomorrow, there will again be some spotty storms between 3pm to 8pm. Chance/coverage is 30%.
It’ll be hot and quiet over the weekend, with isolated showers Monday and Tuesday. Temps will stay hot, just at or below 100°.
