Heidi Montag backs Spencer Pratt after LA mayor loss

Heidi Montag took to X to declare she “couldn’t love” Spencer Pratt “more” after his defeat in the Los Angeles mayoral race, doubling down on her support just as the race results confirmed he won’t advance to the November runoff.

Heidi Montag didn’t wait long to land her message after Spencer Pratt’s Los Angeles mayoral bid ended in defeat.

On June 14, Montag posted on X that she was “couldn’t love my husband more and be more proud of him,” adding, “What an inspiration, what a hero.” The post came shortly after the confirmation that Pratt had been edged out of the race.

The math of the outcome was firm: City Council member Nithya Raman surged ahead to claim second place behind incumbent Karen Bass, earning a spot in the November runoff and eliminating Pratt from contention.

Montag’s response matters because her loyalty isn’t a new headline—it’s been part of the couple’s public rhythm since they tied the knot in 2008. She’s previously described their relationship as a partnership built on day-to-day support, including her own rise in the music business.

In April, Montag told Us Weekly that Pratt had been a driving force in her career. “He is so, so incredible. I mean, I’m the record label, so we have a lot of work to do. It is more than just showing up and performing, which is awesome, and very hard work too,” she said.

Pratt echoed that theme later in May, praising Montag’s work ethic and their home life. In comments to Us Weekly. he described her as “an actual angel superhero. ” saying she was “working so hard to continue putting out new music and paying for our kids’ food and working so hard to be. you know. the single [breadwinner].”.

Their family life is central to the way they frame each other’s efforts, and they share two sons, Gunner, 8, and Ryker, 3.

Even with the electoral setback, Pratt has signaled he’s not stepping away from politics. In a video posted to X shortly after the results were released. he said his mission to “save Los Angeles” will continue and described the end of the campaign as the start of a new phase. “Now that the campaign portion of my mission of save Los Angeles is coming to a close. I’m moving on to the next more interesting phase. I’ve spent a lot of time slaying everybody. I’ve ridiculed everyone on the roster,” he said, with the video captioned, “Saving LA – Phase III.”.

Pratt also suggested that without the pressure of running for office. he will speak more freely and intensify his attacks on institutions he opposes. “You think you can get rid of me that easily?. … Hey, morons, I didn’t get in this for political power. I got in this to expose this corrupt machine. … I don’t have a campaign loss hamstringing me now. It’s war,” he said.

That’s the tension Montag appears to be holding with both hands: a loss at the ballot box, paired with a message that for her, it changes nothing about her admiration for her husband’s drive.
