Head-on crash in Bourne sends two to hospital

head-on crash – Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision on Sandwich Road in Bourne Wednesday morning, with one flown to an area hospital by Boston MedFlight and the other transported by ambulance. Police said the crash is under investigation.
A Wednesday morning drive along Sandwich Road in Bourne ended with a head-on collision—and two people being rushed to medical care.
Police said officers responded around 7:30 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a crash with injuries on the westbound travel lane of Sandwich Road. In the collision, a red 2004 Jeep and a 2023 Toyota pickup truck crashed head-on, police said.
The driver of the red 2004 Jeep is identified as a 35-year-old man from North Carolina. The other driver is identified as a 43-year-old man from Pocasset. Authorities did not release either driver’s name.
Because of the severity of the injuries. the Cape Cod Law Enforcement Council’s Crash Reconstruction team responded to investigate the crash. Police said the Pocasset man was transported by Boston MedFlight to an area hospital. while the North Carolina driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Officials did not disclose the extent of the drivers’ injuries or whether any were life-threatening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Sandwich Rd always feels like it’s speeders doing whatever.
MedFlight being involved makes it sound bad. I don’t get how it was head-on on the westbound lane though… like did they flip lanes or what.
It says 7:30am multiple reports, so probably someone passed on a double line or something. Also the Jeep being a 2004 like is that why? Not trying to be mean, just seems like older cars = more injuries.
Wow. Bourne drivers are wild. Hope they find out what happened because “under investigation” is basically nothing. They should’ve said if the pickup was texting or if it was weather or an animal or whatever, but nope.
