Harry Styles has settled in for his residency at Madison Square Garden, and he couldn’t help from joking about a certain other major event that happened there this summer.
While performing at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Aug. 29, the “As It Was” singer made a cheeky reference to his ex Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce, which was held at the legendary New York City arena in July.
“We’re at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks,” Styles said on stage, according to videos from the performance shared on social media. “And they also do weddings!”
Styles and Swift dated from 2012 to 2013, and their relationship is believed to have inspired several of Swift’s songs, including “Style” from her 2014 album “1989.” Styles’ song “Two Ghosts,” meanwhile, is thought to be about Swift.
Since 2025, Styles has been romantically linked to Zoë Kravitz.
Swift and Kelce, who announced their engagement in 2025, tied the knot in a star-studded wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden on July 3. Styles wasn’t in attendance: He had a show that day at Wembley Stadium in London as part of his ongoing Together, Together tour, which kicked off in May. But Kravitz, a friend of Swift’s, was spotted at the wedding.
The actress was one of many A-listers who turned out for the event: Swift and Kelce’s guest list also included Tom Cruise, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant, Jessica Alba, Tom Hanks and Paul McCartney, among other stars. Adam Sandler officiated the wedding.
Nearly two months after the big day, no official photos from the wedding have been released, though a number of guests have described what it was like inside. On “Good Morning America” in July, anchor George Stephanopoulos said it felt as “intimate as it could possibly be, given it was Madison Square Garden,” revealing the inside was set up to look like there was a “garden inside the Garden.”
In his first public comments about the wedding, Kelce told reporters at training camp on Aug. 12 that it was “the best night of my life,” adding, “I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.” Swift has yet to make any public statement or social media post about the wedding.
Styles kicked off his 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 26. During his first show, the Grammy winner paid tribute to Dolly Parton, raising his arm in a semi-salute as he said, “We love you, Dolly.”
