The official description sets the tone fast. Ride or Die follows best friends Debbie Claybourne (Octavia) and Judith Burton (Hannah). who believe they know everything about each other—until Judith’s past resurfaces and she turns out to be an international assassin. When a mysterious figure emerges from Judith’s history and a hit goes horribly wrong. the two friends are forced into the unthinkable: going on the run together. The series becomes a race against time and a road trip across Europe. with law enforcement. highly trained assassins. and some very dangerous criminals closing in.
That’s the promise, and the calendar is now part of the story.

The series also brings a stacked lineup beyond Spencer and Waddingham. Bill Nighy stars as The Director, and Ed Skrein appears as Billy Donovan. Wait hold up… I thought Hannah Waddingham was in Ted Lasso (she is) so how is she an assassin now? Like did her character suddenly become a hitman?? I mean I’ll watch, I just don’t get it. Someone better explain the past resurfaces part.
Bill Nighy as “The Director” sounds like some big villain boss energy, and then you got Ed Skrein too?? I saw “international assassin” and immediately thought it was gonna be another spy thing like Mission Impossible (even though it’s not). Plus road trip across Europe… are they like actually driving or is it one of those “parked at a castle” things.
