The Cleveland Guardians are making a run at the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central. The Guardians opened the weekend with a doubleheader sweep of the Detroit Tigers before dropping the game on Saturday.
The Guardians then got back into the win column on Sunday, with a tenth-inning walk-off win.
It also pulled them closer to the White Sox in the division, something Scott Merkin of MLB.com pointed out.
“Cleveland picks up its third walkoff victory in four weekend games against the Tigers. They are 2 back of the White Sox with the White Sox/Twins on the horizon in 90 minutes,” Merkin posted on X, formerly Twitter.
