Ghana Free Zones Authority Hosts Orientation for 30 New Enterprises

GFZA convened an orientation for 30 newly licensed Free Zones Enterprises to reinforce regulatory compliance and investor support.
The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has organised an orientation session for 30 newly licensed Free Zones Enterprises as part of efforts to deepen understanding of the Free Zones Scheme and strengthen regulatory compliance.. The session, held at the Authority’s Head Office on Thursday, May 7, 2026, was organised by the Compliance Department to familiarise participants with the operational framework of the Scheme, regulatory obligations and the support services available to investors.. Delivering the welcome
address, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Dr.. Mary Awusi, congratulated the newly licensed companies and urged them to strictly comply with the rules and standards governing the Scheme.. She reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting investors and maintaining a business-friendly environment, while assuring participants of Management’s open-door policy in addressing operational concerns and challenges.. Officials from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) also took participants through customs procedures under the
Free Zones Scheme.. The officials outlined documentation requirements, compliance obligations, import and export processes, cargo handling procedures and trade facilitation measures, while clarifying operational expectations for enterprises operating under the Scheme.. Representatives from several departments of the Authority, including Monitoring, Immigration, Transport, Registry, Management Information Systems (MIS), Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Credit Control and AfCFTA, also delivered presentations on their respective roles in supporting Free Zones Enterprises.. The orientation session further provided an interactive platform for
participants to engage directly with officials and gain a broader understanding of the operational and regulatory framework guiding the Free Zones Scheme.
