Aryna Sabalenka is hitting the tennis court for the final showdown in the women’s singles division of the US Open on September 12. She’s the No. 1 seed in women’s singles, but she’s got to beat Kazakhstani player Elena Rybakina to win that coveted US Open trophy. If Sabalenka wins, the 28-year-old will be celebrating a three-peat in the division, having already won in 2024 and 2025.

What does Georgios Frangulis do for a living?
Frangulis is a Brazilian entrepreneur who founded the company Oakberry in 2016. Although he studied law in Brazil, he never completed his degree or took the bar exam.
Oakberry is a brand that specializes in açaí products. Açaí berries are harvested in the Amazon rainforest, the majority of which is located in Frangulis’ home country of Brazil. Oakberry, which sells açaí bowls, smoothies, and more, has hundreds of stores in dozens of countries.
In August 2016, right before Oakberry was launching, Frangulis was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He had surgery to remove a four-centimeter nodule that October.
Additionally, Frangulis founded The Gride, a clothing brand that pays tribute to his Greek heritage. “THE GRIDE is a tribute to my heritage: The Greek Pride,” the website says. “My pride comes from my grandparents and has spread to my closest circle. The feeling is unmatched, and I’ll do my best to make each and every one of you feel it too.”
Since 2025, Frangulis has been co-owner of the Le Mans Football Club along with Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen. He has also dabbled in motorsports racing. “Getting in the car and racing is one of the few moments when nothing else matters,” he previously told Forbes Brazil.
How did Aryna Sabalenka and Georgios Frangulis meet?
Sabalenka and Frangulis met in January 2024 when she became an ambassador for Oakberry. “Aryna Sabalenka is a great example of the future of tennis and we are working closely with her to create some really exciting things over the years,” Frangulis said in a statement at the time. “We can’t wait for our fans to get involved!”
However, they did not go public with their relationship until April 2024, one month after Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend, Belarusian hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, died by apparent suicide.
Sabalenka told The Guardian in 2024 that she and Koltsov, whom she started dating in 2021, were still together when she first met Frangulis. It’s unclear when her romantic relationship with Frangulis began, but she said, “We signed the contract, then we got to know each other. Somehow, we ended up being together.”
At the time of Koltsov’s death, Sabalenka revealed that she and the hockey player were no longer together.
In 2025, Sabalenka began making public hints that she wanted Frangulis to propose. By January 2026, she said at the Brisbane Open, “Thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully soon I can call you something else.” Frangulis proposed two months later and Sabalenka captioned her Instagram announcement, “I can finally call him something else… FIANCÉ.”

It’s unclear when the two split, but after Frangulis and Sabalenka went public with their relationship, a fan reportedly DMed Armentano asking if the tennis player “disrupted” her marriage, per Daily Mail. Armentano allegedly responded, according to Daily Mail, “I am married to Georgios but I will ask for a divorce. They’ve been having an affair since California.”
Does Georgios Frangulis have children?
No, Frangulis does not have any children. However, Sabalenka has been vocal about her desire to have kids one day, even revealing her timeline for becoming a mother in January 2026.
“Ideally for me, I would love to maybe have kids at 32 or something,” Sabalenka said during a press conference at the Australian Open, per Tennis World USA (she was 27 at the time). “But knowing me, I know that I love to accept tough challenges, so I feel like even after having a kid, I would love to challenge myself, coming back and see if I still have it, just to challenge myself. So probably we’re going to see me being that grandma on tour, trying. Hopefully I’ll be pushing these young girls. We’ll see.”
