National Cheesecake Day is Thursday, July 30 and the some restaurant chains are celebrating with sweet deals for customers.
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, National Cheesecake Day was established in 1985. The dessert itself, however, has roots dating back to ancient Greece. These early Greek cakes, called plakous – which can be translated as “flat cakes” – were made with crumbled cheese mixed with flour and honey and then baked on a griddle.
Many local bakeries and restaurants will be offering deals, so be sure to check in your area. Here’s what to know about the deals chains are offering in honor of the sweet treat.
The Cheesecake Factory unveils half-price deal, new flavor
The Cheesecake Factory, perhaps the restaurant chain most known for its cheesecake selection, is offering all dine-in customers any slice of cheesecake for half price on Thursday, July 30. The company says it has more than 30 cheesecake flavors for diners to choose from.
The chain is also using the occasion to unveil its newest flavor – the Brownie Crunch Choc-a-Lot Cheesecake, a creamy milk and white chocolate marbled cheesecake atop a rich, crunchy toffee brownie. For every slice of Brownie Crunch Choc-a-Lot Cheesecake sold through July 29, 2027, The Cheesecake Factory will donate 25 cents to Feeding America, the company said in a news release.
Freddy’s has deal on cheesecake concrete
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is getting in on the fun on National Cheesecake Day, offering its loyalty program members a $2.99 Mini Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cheesecake Concrete on July 30.
The offer is valid via the drive-thru and in-restaurant for dine-in, pickup or delivery. There is a limit of one per customer.
Junior’s offers two deals
Customers at the icoonic Junior’s Restaurant, which has locations primarly in New York City and two others in Connecticut and Nevada, can get half off slices and cakes in-restaurant. Those online can take advantage of a deal at juniorscheesecake.com by getting $10 off cakes.
