On the show’s official social media sites. the celebration came with a message that sounded like a nod to anyone who’s ever sat through a tough week: “There’s nothing like celebrating a milestone with family. friends. and cake to cure a case of the Mondays. 63 years and 16,000 episodes later, we’re still going strong thanks to all of you!. The milestone wasn’t just a party. It was also a runway for what viewers can expect next—on screen and off.

Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan, was among the familiar faces featured in a new video marking the day. Earlier this year, Burton announced in February that he would be taking a brief break from the role. During a recent episode of his podcast. That’s Awesome. which he co-hosts with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli). Burton confirmed the timing was close.

“Yes, I am coming back to the show. I start in June, so I’ll be back for sure,” he shared.
