Garcia slams – Rep. Robert Garcia, a California Democrat, backed Jan. 6 officers suing Donald Trump over a proposed $1.8 billion “slush fund,” blasting it as corruption and urging Speaker Mike Johnson to denounce it.

Rep. Robert Garcia didn’t hold back on Wednesday night—dropping the sharpest language for Donald Trump and then turning his focus to Jan. 6 police officers who are suing the president over a proposed $1.8 billion slush fund.

“The fund might be the most corrupt thing that the president has actually done on top of the crypto funds. the real estate deals. selling access to the White House. the investment funds. ” Garcia said. “The idea that you’re going to take $1.8 billion that you negotiated yourself between your own government and then hand it out to criminals. to traitors. to election deniers. to Donald Trump’s friends for all we know — to himself possibly. While Garcia did not directly name the plaintiffs, he signaled his support for the suit by attacking the effort as a direct affront to law enforcement. The former U.S. Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and Metropolitan Police Department officer Daniel Hodges are among those tied to the litigation.

Garcia framed Trump’s “lawfare” fund as disrespect toward officers. saying it amounts to “a complete lack of respect for law enforcement.” He said the proposed distribution would give “a penny to the January 6ers. ” describing them as people who “invaded this Capitol. that attacked this Capitol. that tried to overthrow an election.”.

“He’s a small, pathetic loser who has no business getting a dime to give to anybody,” Garcia added.
