Gabe Vincent reveals wild story on Bam Adebayo’s movie habit

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is aware that he cannot simply do the things normal people do in South Beach.
Where were you when Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo dropped a career-high 83 points on the Washington Wizards in March?
To borrow a worn-out meme, it was absolute cinema.
Adebayo, however, has a different interpretation of the familiar phrase, albeit in a literal context. According to former Heat guard Gabe Vincent, Adebayo has to make an expensive move when going to a movie theater.
“Me and Bam go to the movies in Miami. Bam can’t just go to the movies, so he’s like, ‘We’ll rent out the theater,’” said Vincent on “Coach Comma.”
“That’s cool to do, but when you go to the movies, do you really wanna spend $1,500?”

Vincent, who is now a free agent, mentioned it to illustrate the big gap between the maximum-salary players and the average-salary players and how difficult it is to “keep up” with the lifestyle in the NBA.
The 29-year-old Adebayo signed a three-year maximum veteran extension worth $160.3 million in 2024, according to Spotrac. That averages to $53.4 million per year or over $146,300 per day.
Abebayo has been an indispensable piece for Miami over the years because of his two-way production and strong leadership. Last season, he averaged 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 73 games. He was named to the All-Defensive Second Team for the fifth time.
Vincent, meanwhile, spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks, tallying 4.4 points in 16.6 minutes in 53 games. He played for the Heat from 2019 to 2023.
Miami is expected to contend for the title in the upcoming season, adding Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis, Klay Thompson, and Tim Hardaway Jr.
If they play well enough, maybe Adebayo could take them to a movie theater.
