Gabbriette Reveals What She Expects From Married Life With Husband Matty Healy: ‘I’ve Already Met My Best Friend’

Gabbriette is opening up about her romance with Matty Healy.
The 29-year-old model and former Nasty Cherry musician spoke out in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar as part of their 2026 ICONS portfolio.
During the discussion, she spoke about her modeling and acting career, her aesthetic, and her love life after recently tying the knot with the 37-year-old frontman of The 1975.
See the highlights from the conversation inside…
On how she envisions married life with Matty Healy: “I don’t feel like it’s gonna be very different. I feel like I’ve already met my best friend…The wedding is for our moms and dads. I wanted to do, like, a 50-person thing in a field, so.”
On her style uniform: “When I found my taste, it was all in the ’90s and early 2000s. [It was about] getting that right for myself and making sure that the style fit my body and [was] what I felt good in. I don’t think my uniform has changed that much. I just think maybe I’ve gotten a bit more mature. I’m a different person than I was 10 years ago, obviously, but I’ve always loved a leather jacket and a leather pair of pants or some jeans.”
On her positive approach to life: “I love working. I love getting to travel. I love everything. So I think challenges, for me, are just being around negative people—people who don’t appreciate what we’re doing or see that there’s a bigger picture to it…I know some people get severely affected by what’s being said about them, and I’ve just learned to laugh.”
On expanding beyond the runway, with supporting roles in the 2025 remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Nastasya Popov’s directorial debut, Idiotka: “Babe, I am a performer, okay? Every runway is different. I’m not the same girl every time. I’m putting on a show. If I were myself, I wouldn’t be able to do it.”
On how Gabbriette struggles with stage fright, despite her apparent dauntlessness: “I’ve only done runway, like, five times at this point, and I’m horrible at it. I used to love being onstage, and I thought it would be the same, and it’s abso-f–king-lutely not. It is the worst. It’s the worst feeling on the planet. I don’t know why people do it to themselves. It’s horrifying.”
