So basically fireworks turned into a riot? Crazy.
I saw a clip and it looked like they were just letting people fight first then herding everyone on horses?? Not sure if it was staged or what but Newport is wild every year.
Wait, did they say fireworks were literally going off inside the crowds outside the bars? That sounds like somebody brought illegal stuff in… or maybe it was just confetti and people assumed it was gunfire. Either way, the police on horses feels like an overreaction.
Not gonna lie, this feels like what happens when the city lets too many people pack the beach. Like why even have ‘fireworks’ when everyone’s drunk and then somehow it’s fireworks near homes too? I hate that they won’t say how many injuries/arrests yet because everybody’s gonna assume the worst anyway.
