Smoke is filling the air over the M58 this morning after a fire. Aerial photographs shared with the ECHO show the blaze on Rainford Road, which is near junction three of the motorway in the Bickerstaffe area of West Lancashire. Fire fighters from Lancashire Fire and Rescue service are currently at the scene, which is a commercial building. In a statement, the fire service said it was called to the scene at 6.16am on June 30 with six fire engines, along with a water tower
and drone. In a separate statement on Facebook, the fire service added: “If you can see or smell smoke, keep your windows and doors shut.” Traffic on the M58 has not been affected by the fire. They say keep windows shut but my car always smells weird after stuff like this anyway. Hope everyone’s ok. Also why was it a commercial building, weren’t they inspected or something?
So traffic wasnt affected but smoke was filling the air? That sounds like it IS affecting people, just not the cars. Junction 3 stuff always causes problems too, could’ve been a crash.

If you can see or smell smoke keep doors shut like we can control the whole neighborhood lol. Anyone know what kind of business it was? Kinda sounds like chemical smoke, and those linger for days.
