Final Fantasy 16 is among the new games arriving June 16 for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers, alongside Kingdom Come: Deliverance and more. Sony also revealed the full June 2026 Game Catalog lineup for PS5 and PS4 tiers.
By mid-June, PlayStation Plus subscribers won’t have to wait as long to feel the pull of a big release. Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the June lineup of new games arriving to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, and Final Fantasy 16 is leading the charge.
The game lands on June 16 for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers. Alongside it, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and several other titles will join the catalog for players who want something substantial to download right away.
Final Fantasy 16 is the latest mainline entry in the long-running franchise, not counting remakes or spinoffs. The story follows Clive Rosfield as he seeks revenge against a Dark Eikon. The way it plays sets it apart from some older entries in the series: it leans action-forward, with real-time combat.
Reception has been strong. Final Fantasy 16 sits at a score of 87 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic. It isn’t unanimous, though. Polygon’s review was more sour than most, praising the combat and encounters while criticizing the narrative. “What a shame that this is the story that accompanies the compelling combat design and encounters that I couldn’t get enough of. ” it said.

The Game Catalog is available to PlayStation Plus subscribers on tiers higher than Essential. meaning it’s part of Sony’s broader “hundreds of games” offering for people who already pay for more than the basic plan. The service functions as Sony’s answer to Xbox Game Pass. letting subscribers download and try games without buying each one at full price.

Wait Polygon said the story was bad but the combat was good right? That quote sounds like they just wanted more cutscenes or something. Also June 16 is weird timing I thought PS Plus updates were always on Tuesdays…
Farming Simulator 25 and Black Desert?? Sony really just throws everything in the catalog and hopes we don’t notice. I literally just renewed Essential though so do I still get any of this or do I have to upgrade again? Feels like they’re always upselling us.
