FHP: Seven Eastbound, Four Westbound Crashes on I-10

Tallahassee drivers saw it unfold in real time on the roadway they rely on every day. On Wednesday evening, Florida Highway Patrol reported multiple crashes that occurred within minutes of each other along I-10—one after another as the sky over north Tallahassee turned stormy.
Troopers said a total of seven vehicles crashed on I-10 eastbound. On the westbound side, four vehicles were involved. Only minor injuries have been reported so far.
Traffic cameras captured one of the early scenes near mile marker 201, around 6 p.m. A car sat flipped on its roof on the shoulder of the roadway. with several cars pulled off to the side. About an hour later. cameras showed a tow truck hauling away the flipped car while troopers directed traffic around the scene. FHP said it remains unclear how many vehicles were involved in that particular crash and how many people were injured.
A few miles down the road, near mile marker 199, FHP reported another collision at about 6:12 p.m. Not long after, near mile marker 203, troopers reported another crash on I-10 eastbound.
By the time officials relayed the information, the roadway was described as clear near the crash site at mile marker 203, according to FHP.
Heavy rainstorms moved through north Tallahassee on Wednesday evening, though it is unclear whether the storms contributed to the collisions.
