A heat advisory is in effect across all of South Florida today, with widespread major heat risk expected for “all urban areas.”
That’s according to the National Weather Service office Miami. Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are all under the advisory, which will last from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Maximum heat indices will range from 105 to 110 degrees each afternoon “through at least the end of the week” in South Florida, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

Miami: A high near 91, with heat index values as high as 106.
Fort Lauderdale: A high near 93, with heat index values as high as 106.
