Erie Insurance climbs to 308th on Fortune 500

Erie Insurance has moved up to 308th on the 2026 Fortune 500 list, marking the 23rd time the company has appeared and highlighting another year of growth driven by customers’ trust and the work of employees and agents.

On a day when corporate rankings usually feel distant, Erie Insurance brought the spotlight back home—ranking 308th on the 2026 Fortune 500 list after moving up from last year’s 323rd.

The Fortune 500 list, now in its 72nd year, measures companies by their total revenues recorded in the previous year. To crack the top 500, Fortune reports a minimum revenue of $7.5 billion was required. Erie Insurance Group reported $14.616 billion in revenue for the latest fiscal year.

CEO Tim NeCastro framed the move as something earned, not just calculated. “Our place on the Fortune 500 reflects the trust our customers place in ERIE and the dedication our employees and agents bring to serving them every day,” he said in a statement.

The company’s rise comes as Amazon leads this year’s list with revenues of $716.9 billion. followed by Walmart with revenues of $713.2 billion. Walmart had been in the top spot for the past 13 years. Fortune also notes that Fortune 500 companies account for about two-thirds of the nation’s gross domestic product.
