EPD collars fleeing robbery suspects in Pasig
EPD officers arrested two robbery suspects after a motorcycle chase in Pasig. Firearms, drugs, and a grenade were recovered.
A high-speed chase in Pasig City ended in arrests after Eastern Police District officers caught two suspects trying to flee.
Misryoum reports that the two robbery suspects were taken into custody on Friday afternoon by members of the EPD. The police said the pair had been linked to a series of robberies across Quezon City, San Juan, and Marikina.
The pursuit reportedly escalated quickly once the suspects were spotted, leading to a collision that abruptly ended their attempt to escape.
In this context, the swift interdiction shows how coordinated patrols can compress suspects’ time to run, even when they use motorcycles to avoid checkpoints.
Police said the operation moved into high gear at around 1:45 p.m. when officers spotted the suspects riding a motorcycle. As they tried to get away, the suspects collided with a civilian motorist, which resulted in their flight ending on the spot.
Officers recovered multiple items from the suspects, including two handguns, a fragmentation hand grenade, and about 15 grams of suspected shabu. Investigators also said a Yamaha Aerox motorcycle was seized as the getaway vehicle.
That kind of cache matters because it can quickly change the risk level of an operation, not just for police, but for the public who may be caught in the middle of a chase.
According to Misryoum, the suspects were inquested for offenses including illegal possession of explosives, firearms, and drugs. They were also charged with reckless imprudence and disobedience to authority.
The case remains a reminder that robberies tied across several areas can trigger wider police efforts, with arrests often coming only after long-running patterns are finally connected.
Meanwhile, residents are left to process what a chaotic chase can do in minutes, even when the outcome ends in custody rather than further harm.
