Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Matches Wallen’s No. 1 Run

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” stays at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for a 25th week, tying Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” as the fifth-longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s history. With Langley also sweeping the top three this week, the next ch
For the past several months, every time Billboard has refreshed its charts, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has made history—again and again.
The country hit remains the leader on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. a ranking that measures what’s most popular and most-consumed in the genre by combining sales. streams. and airplay. This week. the milestone lands at 25 weeks on top. and Langley’s career-defining run now sits level with one of the most watched No. 1s in recent country history.
“Choosin’ Texas” rules the Hot Country Songs tally for a milestone 25th week. It joins just six singles that have spent that long at No. 1, and Langley’s track is currently tied for the fifth-longest-running No. 1 of all time on the chart.
At the same 25-week mark, “Choosin’ Texas” ties Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night.” The two smashes jointly hold the fifth-longest-running No. 1 spot. Wallen’s song reached No. 1 in 2023 and held the top position for just under half a year.
This week’s Hot Country Songs chart doesn’t just spotlight “Choosin’ Texas.” Langley fills the entire top three. “Be Her,” the second Dandelion single, holds at No. 2. “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” Langley’s collaboration with Wallen, sits at No. 3—where it also holds its all-time high.
The big question now is what happens next.
It appears likely that in the next set of charts, “Choosin’ Texas” will stay on track to appear at No. 1 once again. If that happens. Langley’s song will break the tie with “Last Night” and move into sole possession of the fifth-longest-running No. 1 title. Wallen’s “Last Night” would then slide to sixth.
And if “Choosin’ Texas” can hold the penthouse for another two weeks—something that seems entirely plausible—it would match Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope” for the fourth-longest-running No. 1. Barrett’s American Idol-winning career-making hit dominated at No. 1 for 27 frames between 2020 and 2021.
There’s still a larger mountain ahead, though, before the very longest runs get threatened.
“Choosin’ Texas” has a long way to go before it challenges the three tracks with the longest chart histories at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs. Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line may forever sit at the top with “Meant to Be. ” which topped the chart for 50 weeks between 2017 and 2018. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” logged 45 turns at No. 1, while Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” spent 34 times at the top.
What’s fueling the momentum isn’t limited to Hot Country Songs.
“Choosin’ Texas” is also a non-mover at No. 1 across six Billboard rankings. The track leads the Country Streaming Songs chart and the Country Digital Song Sales chart as well. It also tops three broader charts not specific to one genre: the Billboard Hot 100. along with Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales.
In the span of a few weeks, Langley has moved from simply leading the pack to tying—at a major historical tier—with a fellow country powerhouse she collaborated with: Morgan Wallen.
