Elisabeth Hasselbeck is back on television next week—this time, stepping into the morning spotlight alongside Gayle King and Nate Burleson on CBS Mornings.

CBS announced the temporary gig in an X post on June 11. saying: “Next week on @CBSMornings: @ehasselbeck joins as a special guest host!” The weekday program will have Hasselbeck during the 8 a.m. hour. with the network telling viewers she will appear Monday. June 15 through Wednesday. June 17. speaking about “parenting. pop culture. and more.”.

The timing also lands with a broader shake-up at CBS News. Tony Dokoupil, the network’s new CBS Evening News anchor, will move over from cohosting CBS Mornings—where he has worked alongside Gayle King and Nate Burleson since 2019—on Jan. 5, 2026.

Hasselbeck, 49, is scheduled to be one of several guest hosts throughout the summer. Eva Pilgrim, the Inside Edition host, is also expected to appear on CBS Mornings sometime this week, according to the outlet.

CBS Mornings airs weekdays from 7–9 a.m. ET, but Hasselbeck’s segment is specifically slotted into the 8 a.m. hour, matching the network’s invitation in its June 11 post.

Hasselbeck is a familiar figure to many viewers. She first came to national attention in 2001 as a contestant on the second season of Survivor. After finishing in fourth place, she married then–NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck the following year.

Her television path then moved to daytime talk: Hasselbeck joined The View in 2003 and co-hosted the ABC program until 2013. During that decade-long run, she became widely known for conservative commentary, including speaking at the Republican National Convention in both 2004 and 2008.

After leaving The View, she co-hosted Fox & Friends from 2013 to 2015. Her final day with Fox News was Dec. 22, 2015.

CBS Mornings also brings Hasselbeck back into the same cultural conversation she just revisited in March. Over a decade after leaving The View. she returned briefly in March. joining co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg. Sara Haines. Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro for the “hot topics” segment. Co-host Joy Behar was notably absent.

That absence followed a more tense exchange last year, when Hasselbeck and Behar had a back-and-forth in 2025 after Behar criticized Carrie Underwood’s performance at President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

During her March 2 appearance on The View, Hasselbeck spoke directly about disagreement without rupture, saying: “Civil discourse is not dead. We might have differences of opinion, but we love each other and we’re stronger.”

She continued: “I actually think for the young people watching it’s important to see that … we can hold our positions in one hand, and each other’s hand in the other, and be able to just live as Americans with the freedom that we have and speak our hearts and minds.”

Hasselbeck added: “We get to do that all week. It might get a little spicy at times, but we do not hate each other, we love each other,” before concluding, “We have the freedom to do it, and it’s important to remind everybody of that.”

After that brief return, Hasselbeck thanked The View for welcoming her back. In a March 7 X post, she wrote: “Grateful for this week!. 20 years go I took the seat at the table of the View and returning felt like home. ” adding: “@TheView – it’s wonderful production team. the women at the table and entire crew- hair makeup sound tech security and all: THANK YOU!”.

For CBS Mornings viewers, the week ahead is shaped by two separate but connected moments: Hasselbeck stepping into the daytime conversation again, and Dokoupil’s eventual move to CBS Evening News—an anchor change that will take effect on Jan. 5, 2026.
