Donald Trump Jabs Dart After Rally Backlash

President Donald Trump weighed in on the backlash facing New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart after Dart introduced Trump at a rally for Rep. Mike Lawler on May 22 in Suffern, New York. In a May 30 interview with Lara Trump on Fox News Channel, Trump praise
President Donald Trump didn’t shy away from the noise around Jaxson Dart.
On Saturday, May 30, Trump—79—stepped into the conversation during a May 30 interview with Lara Trump on Fox News Channel’s My View With Lara Trump, talking directly about the New York Giants quarterback who introduced him at a rally earlier this month and then caught backlash online.
Trump started with a quick, playful jab about Dart’s appearance. “Well, first of all, I wish I looked just like Jaxson,” the president said. He described Dart as “this guy,” adding, “He’s this guy. I said, is he a male model or what?. He’s a handsome guy, like a beautiful guy, and a conservative guy. He said, ‘I love you, sir.’ And I didn’t know he was doing it.”.
That moment traces back to May 22. when Dart—23—introduced Donald Trump at a campaign-like rally for Republican congressman Mike Lawler in Suffern. New York. Facing the crowd. Dart said. “Big Blue nation. it’s a pleasure to be here. ” and then added: “What an honor. what a privilege it is to be here. and without further ado. I’m grateful. I’m honored. I’m pleasured. to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America. President Donald J. Trump.”.
The reaction was fast. Dart’s political move sparked instant backlash online, and even among fellow NFL players. The fallout included comments tied to Joy Behar’s criticism, and it carried into the NFL locker room.
Dart’s fellow 2025 first round draft pick Abdul Carter reacted the following day via X, writing, “Thought this s*** was AI, what we doing man?”
As the criticism swelled, Trump appeared unmoved. “He’s potentially a great quarterback,” the president said on May 30. He described Dart as “a young boy” and argued that when Dart is playing, “he moves the team.”
Trump also leaned on durability and momentum—“He’s got tremendous potential. He stays healthy He’s going to be a great.”—before returning to the backlash itself. “So when Jaxon gets… harassed a little bit, he’s also loved more, because we have more people than they do.”
Trump then expanded the argument with a comparison to other voters. “And a lot of the people that you think. like people in Los Angeles. wealthy people that. I see them all the time. they’re hitting me a little bit. and they meet me and they say. sir. I voted for you.” He followed that up by saying. “I said. I know. I can tell. Guys voted for me, I could tell you people on television that knocked me all the time voted for me.”.
Before Trump’s comments, Dart addressed the backlash on Friday, May 29. He did so while defending his decision to introduce the president during the rally.
“Obviously. this was a unique opportunity. being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the president of the United States. ” Dart told reporters. He said. “My thinking was pretty simple. in the fact of. I’ve always loved this country.” Dart pointed to his family as part of why the moment mattered to him. saying he has “extended family members who have fought in wars. ” including “two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and served themselves.”.
He continued, “And I even have a great-grandfather who served as the Secretary of the Treasury at some point.” Dart said he respected the presidential role “regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party,” adding: “My intentions were just that.”
The sequence now places the quarterback’s defense and Trump’s praise side by side—one focused on respect for the office, the other focused on talent, popularity, and a claim that harassment only boosts support.

Why is Trump roasting a QB like this lol.
I didn’t even know Jaxson Dart introduced him, but of course people are mad. Like let the man do his job?? Also Trump talking about how he looks is just… childish.
So Dart got backlash because he said “Big Blue nation” and introduced Trump? That seems like nothing. Unless they’re mad he said “honor privilege” which is weird to be mad about. Everyone wants to fight over words now. I think the NFL will just ignore it until next week.
This is what I don’t get… Trump jabs him for appearance and suddenly it’s fine? But then people “backlash” over some political intro at a rally. I’m sure Dart was just trying to be respectful and not even political, like he’s the QB not the president. Joy Behar was probably already mad so it snowballed, smh.
