Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker has taken a step in the right direction.
Tucker recorded a hit against the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Tuesday, Aug. 18. It was an RBI double that helped snap an 0-for-26 hitless streak.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts removed Tucker from the lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Roberts cited Tucker feeling frustrated about some of his recent home performances. He did return for another game against the Brewers and has remained present during the series against the Rockies.
“I don’t think he even realized (his frustration) until recently, when I think people brought it to light, but the fact is that the splits are stark (between home and road),” Roberts told reporters on Aug. 15.
Tucker went 1-for-4 in the game, scoring a run and driving in another in the Dodgers’ 7-6 victory.
Tucker signed a four-year deal worth $240 million as a free agent this past offseason.
