Disney has released the first Hexed teaser, introducing Billie and her cautious mother Alice as Billie accidentally unleashes secret magical abilities and is swept into Hexe—where family mysteries and witch magic could rewrite the rules.

Disney’s first teaser for its 65th animated feature. “Hexed. ” opens with that exact challenge—and then immediately pulls viewers out of suburbia. The new preview spotlights Billie. an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl voiced by Hailee Steinfeld. and her cautious mother Alice. voiced by Rashida Jones.
In the teaser’s brief burst of chaos, Billie accidentally unleashes secret magical abilities. The result is not subtle: she’s hurled out of her normal life and into a magical realm called Hexe.
Once there, Billie is greeted by Ms. Quill, voiced by Tracey Ullman, and Elias Quire, voiced by Stephen Fry. The teaser follows Billie through a spectacle-filled journey, building toward the promise that she’ll discover family mysteries—ones that could change the magical world of witches forever.
The vibe in “Hexed” feels instantly transportive, with a visual energy that lands somewhere between Studio Ghibli-like warmth and classic fairytale enchantment. The voice cast also hits hard in the trailer, including a standout moment that sounds like Brett Gelman as an irate teacher.
After so much of the film’s production has stayed shrouded in secrecy, it’s a relief to finally get something tangible from “Hexed.” And the story’s emotional core seems clear: Billie isn’t just stumbling into magic—she’s being forced to confront who she is.
Director Fawn Veerasunthorn, whose last Disney animation feature was “Wish,” described it as a strange awakening happening all around Billie. In her statement, Veerasunthorn said, “A wonderfully strange phenomenon is happening all around Billie, something she can’t explain. She’s someone who has felt miscast in her own life. and it takes leaving her normal world behind and entering a hidden world of wild. unhinged magic to begin to understand herself.”.
Jason Hand. who last directed Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana 2. ” added. “Hexe is a place where Billie begins to feel seen for the first time in her life. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery that reveals a powerful connection to magic. and in the process uncovers long-held secrets about her family.”.
“Hexed” is co-directed by Josie Trinidad, and produced by Roy Conlin and Yvett Merino.
For now, the message is simple: Billie’s life doesn’t just change—it flips. “Hexed” arrives exclusively in theaters on Nov. 25.
