Denise Richards says her “spicy” eldest daughter, Sami Sheen, isn’t afraid to stand up to her dad, Charlie Sheen.
During an appearance on the “Dumb Blonde Podcast,” hosted by Bunnie Xo, Richards, 55, opened up about her daughters Sami, 22, and Lola Sheen, 21, sharing how differently the two have grown up and revealing that Sami is the one most likely to challenge her famous father.
Richards and Charlie Sheen, 60, share two daughters, and the former couple tied the knot in 2002 before divorcing in 2006.
Xo, the former wife of rapper Jelly Roll, opened the conversation by saying, “I feel like – and we can cut this out if you want me to – but I feel like she’s kind of Charlie’s karma in a way,” to which Richards laughed and replied, “You don’t have to cut it out.”
The podcast host continued by saying, “I feel like she gives him a run for his money, and he needs that.” Richards agreed: “Oh, she does. She, out of all the kids, I feel, stands up to him the most. And you know, and he does need it. We all do.”
The “Wild Things” actress added that she admires Sami’s confidence, even if it occasionally lands the family in headlines.
“I wish I had her confidence when I was her age,” Richards said. “However, I do wish sometimes she filtered herself a little bit. When she’s saying stuff, sometimes. But I’d rather her be the way she is. She’s not afraid to be who she is, and that’s something that I really admire in her.”
Despite the drama, Richards said she wouldn’t want her daughter to change who she is.
The reality TV star also reflected on how different her two daughters are from one another, despite being raised in the same household. “She and Lola could not be more opposite,” Richards added. Sami isn’t afraid to cause a stir in the media, like she did after joining OnlyFans in 2022, and Richards has described Lola as being “sweet and loves Jesus.”
This isn’t the first time Charlie and Sami’s father-daughter relationship has made headlines. In July, Sami pushed back on assertions that her dad helped her out financially and shut down “nepo baby” rumors.
“Look, if I had daddy’s money, I would own it, OK? I would let you guys know, but these comments make me so frustrated because this man has not given me a dime in over four years,” Sami said in a TikTok video. “I’ve been fully financially supporting myself since I was 18 years old.”
The OnlyFans creator followed up by saying she was able to purchase her beach house because of the success she’s found on the platform.
