Danielle Fishel’s laxatives forced an ugly tour stop

Danielle Fishel says strong laxatives led to a “repulsive” roadside moment during the “Pod Meets World” live podcast tour, after her travel bathroom routine fell apart and she had to use a gas-station porta-potty. The confession came as she and cohosts Will Fr
Danielle Fishel didn’t expect her body to turn a live podcast tour into a roadside emergency.
In a June 25 episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast. the “Dancing with the Stars” alum recalled traveling with cohosts Will Friedle and Rider Strong when she took “strong laxatives” after realizing she couldn’t rely on her usual routine while away. She said the issue started because her needs shift when she travels. leaving her to improvise when she hadn’t been to the bathroom for days.
“I don’t always keep my same bathroom habits when I travel,” Fishel said. “Unfortunately, my body just changes. So there was one time I was like, ‘Guys, I don’t know what to do. It’s been a few days since I’ve been to the bathroom.’ I had to take some very strong laxatives.”
The stop that followed wasn’t glamorous. Fishel described pulling over and using “the most repulsive porta-potty in a gas station. ” saying she couldn’t have cared whether the location was pleasant. because she just needed relief. “And I went to the bathroom in the most repulsive porta-potty in a gas station. You know what?. I couldn’t have cared, I couldn’t have cared, it wouldn’t have mattered,” she said. “It would have been on the side of the road, in the porta-potty.”.
Friedle said the moment was captured as she returned to the vehicle, describing her reaction as she emerged from the restroom. He said Fishel put her hands up “all excited,” like someone stepping out of a difficult chapter.
“I was thrilled. I felt like a new person. I was like, ‘OK, we can, guess what guys we can continue this tour,’” Fishel added.
Her confession landed during a broader conversation about how much the cohosts have learned from each other while traveling for the show—through live episodes, recording hundreds of episodes, hosting live shows, and filming the documentary “Doc Meets World.”
Fishel also pointed to a more ordinary but oddly intimate detail: she said she had no idea how often Friedle changes his underwear while they’re on tour. She said the group would talk regularly about what underwear he was currently wearing. and that he would then swap into a different pair for live performances.
“I did not have any idea how many times a day Will changes his underwear,” Fishel said. “We got to talk regularly about what underwear Will was currently wearing. He would then show us and then he’d say. ‘But I’m going to go and change into these for the live show.’ So then we’d know what underwear he was wearing for the live show.”.
For Fishel, it’s the small, revealing moments that add up. She said those “little idiosyncrasies” are part of what makes the ongoing coverage of their dynamic so immersive, especially as they peel back details that the bigger stories never capture.
“Little stuff” like that, the “little idiosyncrasies” are the kinds of things they got to know about each other while recording hundreds of episodes, hosting live shows and while filming the documentary “Doc Meets World.”
Friedle agreed. saying the group already knew much of the bigger themes about one another. but the day-to-day quirks are what surface deeper layers. “We just, I don’t know, it’s a lot of the little stuff. The big stuff. I think. we all kinda knew most of the big stuff about each other and then you kind of peel the layers back on a lot of the big stuff to get to the nitty gritty but we kinda knew it. ” Friedle said.
