Dan Goldman Claims DOJ Is Hiding Epstein Files

Epstein files – Rep. Dan Goldman accuses DOJ of withholding and heavily redacting millions of Epstein-related files, alleging it protects President Trump.

A House Democrat is pressing the Justice Department over its handling of Jeffrey Epstein records, accusing federal prosecutors of “covering up” information that could, in his view, draw a line toward President Donald Trump.

Rep.. Dan Goldman (D-NY) made his case Wednesday. arguing that the Department of Justice has failed to release millions of documents tied to Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking conspiracy while using redactions he says were improper.. In remarks during a discussion about the administration’s decision not to turn over all Epstein materials. Goldman focused on the scope of what remains undisclosed and the legal rationale used to restrict access.

Goldman said he wants answers about what is contained in the “2.5 million files” that. in his telling. have not been made public.. He argued that the redactions and the explanations for withholding portions of the records suggest more than routine privacy protections. claiming the government’s approach points to an effort to protect Trump.

He also described taking action on the House floor to highlight what he said was a specific document that the Justice Department labeled privileged and then redacted from public view.. In his account. lawmakers were still able to review the material in person. and Goldman said what was shown to Congress did not appear to justify the redaction.. He argued that the government’s use of privilege claims. including attorney-client privilege. was being used as a cover rather than applied in a manner consistent with the legal standard.

Goldman’s broader claim is that large parts of the remaining records could contain information connecting Trump to the Epstein matter. even if. as he put it. that does not necessarily mean Trump is guilty of being a co-conspirator.. The thrust of his argument is that there is no reasonable basis. in his view. for keeping so much material sealed when the government has already released other documents.

He pointed to the Justice Department’s justification that some of the withheld records are duplicates.. Goldman said that if that is the case. there would be no reason to refuse to release them. arguing that the government’s refusal to turn over duplicates without explanation reflects a continued withholding of material.

Goldman linked the dispute to a law he referenced as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, saying withholding and redacting on the scale he describes violates the statute’s requirements. He called it a misuse of privileges and characterized the approach as an abuse of power.

The congressman’s comments build on earlier criticism from last year. when he accused then-Attorney General Pam Bondi of hiding documents within the Epstein file process to protect President Trump.. Goldman has also previously argued for the records to be viewed in a way that reflects Trump’s personal connection to Epstein. at one point suggesting the files should be referred to as the “Trump-Epstein files.”

While the debate centers on the release of sealed material, the political stakes extend beyond document access.. Goldman’s accusation frames the dispute as part of a larger question about transparency and accountability in the federal handling of a case that remains a major public focus.. For the White House and the Justice Department. the legal and privacy justifications for withholding are likely to remain central to how they respond to the allegation that redactions and non-disclosure are being used to shield a sitting president.

For now. Goldman’s demand is straightforward: if the withheld material is truly covered by technical explanations like duplication or privilege. he says it should be turned over.. If not. he argues. the remaining records may contain information that critics believe ties Trump more directly to what happened in the Epstein sex-trafficking case.

  1. Goldman is literally the last person I trust to talk about this stuff. wasnt he connected to some lawsuit or something a while back I cant remember but I swear I saw something about it on facebook. anyway the whole thing stinks and nobody in DC is clean so why is he acting like hes some kind of hero here

  2. this is what gets me, they redacted documents that congress already SAW in person so like what is even the point of redacting it at that stage. the whole attorney client privilege thing makes zero sense to me because Epstein is dead so who is the client they are protecting. I dont understand how that even applies legally. my brother in law is a paralegal and he said that sounds completely backwards but honestly the whole situation has been backwards since day one and nobody ever gets in trouble for any of it.

  3. wait I thought Trump was the one who released the files back in January, why is Goldman saying they are being hidden now. pretty sure I read that they already came out. this whole story is confusing me because I keep seeing headlines that say opposite things and I dont know what to believe anymore but I feel like the media just keeps changing the story every week to keep people mad
