DaBaby’s courtroom fight over a 2022 bowling alley altercation is now over—quietly, on paper, and with terms that still won’t be shared.

The case involving the “Bop” rapper was settled after legal documents were submitted in Los Angeles court Friday. June 5. according to filings obtained through the litigation by legal counsel for Brandon Curiel. who goes by the stage name Brandon Bill$. Curiel’s lawsuit stemmed from an incident at Corbin Bowl in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The settlement details have not been made public. But the notice filed in connection with the agreement lists the settlement date as Thursday, June 4. The same notice indicates the settlement is unconditional—meaning finalizing the agreement is not contingent on completing specified terms.

A request to dismiss the case will be filed within 45 days of the settlement being reached.

The long-running dispute began in February 2022, when Curiel—DaBaby’s ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh’s brother—alleged he was injured by the rapper during a fight at Corbin Bowl. Curiel sued for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.

In Curiel’s initial complaint. he alleged he “was physically and psychologically damaged. incurred medical bills. sustained disability and had to retain an attorney and has incurred legal costs” because of the incident. He sought general, special, and punitive damages to be determined after a jury trial.

In response, DaBaby said he was acting in self-defense and alleged Curiel was the primary aggressor. Over the years, the artist pushed to have the case dismissed, while Curiel maintained his claims.

While the settlement closes the chapter in court, it does not erase the public trail of disputes around DaBaby and DaniLeigh. The rapper and DaniLeigh share a child, and their relationship has played out publicly before.

In November 2021. DaniLeigh was charged with two counts of simple assault after an argument with DaBaby. with the two documenting parts of the conflict in Instagram Live videos. Authorities previously said they were called back to the same Charlotte. North Carolina home the next morning for a disturbance. where an investigation led to charges against DaniLeigh.

DaBaby alleged DaniLeigh assaulted him when police responded, while DaniLeigh responded after the charges were filed, writing on her Instagram story with a photo from inside an airplane, “I left and me and my baby are safe. Thank y’all for the support.”

This latest settlement comes as DaBaby has also publicly mourned a personal loss. On Instagram, DaBaby mourned the death of his older brother, Glenn Johnson, who died of a gunshot wound at age 34.

The settlement terms remain sealed, but the procedural next steps are clear: a dismissal request is expected within 45 days, and the unconditional agreement means neither side appears to be waiting on additional conditions to close the case.

The legal battle now ends where it started—in a fight that both sides described differently, and that dragged on for years through claims of injury and a counterclaim of self-defense—only now resolved without a public explanation of what, exactly, the parties agreed to.
