Cunningham’s alleged stalker arrested after escalating threats

Kevin Singh, accused of stalking Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham, was arrested in Indianapolis on Tuesday and will appear in court on Thursday. Prosecutors say he sent a cologne-soaked Guns N’ Roses T-shirt and escalated into explicit social media message
By the time Kevin Singh was arrested in Indianapolis on Tuesday, the trail prosecutors describe had already been building for months—beginning in February, climbing into the arena, and ending with Cunningham fearing she was being watched.
Singh, 48, is accused of stalking Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham. He was taken into custody in Indianapolis, where he is scheduled for his first court appearance on Thursday.
The charges are felony stalking, felony intimidation and misdemeanor harassment. If convicted, Singh could face anywhere from one to five years in prison.
Prosecutors say the alleged behavior crossed from online harassment into something far more personal. They allege Singh hand-delivered a package addressed to “Sophie” at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Inside, investigators say, was a Guns N’ Roses T-shirt sprayed with men’s cologne, along with a letter.
Shortly after, prosecutors say Singh began sending persistent messages on social media. Some of those communications are described as explicit in a probable cause affidavit.
The affidavit and court record also describe escalation after Cunningham was given reasons to believe the harassment might stop. Prosecutors say Singh became increasingly threatening as early as February, even after being sent a cease-and-desist letter. Eventually, he was banned from the arena.
In one exchange detailed in the materials. Singh allegedly wrote to Cunningham on social media: “The organization literally threatened me with JAIL.” He added: “Over what??. Because you can’t stop looking at what I post??. Do you have ANY f***ing clue what that threat feels like?. I can’t go there for ANY reason. Any concert, comedy show . . . bc if you, & your F***ed UP mental health.”.
Cunningham initially dismissed the alleged harassment as “another guy posting nasty things. ” but police say she has become more cautious in public. Court documents describe that she is staying home more. having nightmares. and feeling like she is “always watching her back.” In the court file. police say Cunningham told authorities she does not feel safe and is fearful of Kevin Singh.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said the case carries extra weight due to Singh’s prior criminal history. Mears said, “The internet has made it easier than ever to target, harass and intimidate others. Threats of violence. whether face-to-face or behind a keyboard. will be taken seriously.” He added that “Coming forward is never easy. ” and called Cunningham’s decision to speak out an example “by speaking out. ” saying no one should have to endure harassment. intimidation or threats of violence.
Singh’s past matters in this case. Prosecutors say, as reported by WISHTV.com, Singh is on probation in Hendricks County, Indiana, after pleading guilty to two counts of invasion of privacy. In that earlier matter, prosecutors say the stalking charge and four other felonies were dismissed.
The allegations have also fed into a legal dispute. Prosecutors say Singh has sued the Fever’s parent company, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, after being barred from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. In the lawsuit. Singh claims he “suffered financial losses. embarrassment. emotional distress. and loss of use of purchased event access” as a result of the decision.
The Fever organization is not facing this problem in isolation. Cunningham is reportedly not the first Fever player targeted. In July 2025, a man named Michael Lewis pleaded guilty to stalking Caitlin Clark and was later given a 2.5-year jail sentence.
Pacers and Fever spokespeople have not provided comment. Cunningham’s alleged stalker, however, will have to answer to the courts soon—turning a long-running dispute into a case prosecutors say will be measured in charges, evidence, and sentencing risk.
