Courtney A. Kemp Signs Overall Deal With Apple TV

Courtney A. Kemp has signed a new multiyear overall deal with Apple TV. Through her company End of Episode, Kemp will develop and create series exclusively for Apple TV, with Apple TV given a first-look on film projects. The move comes as her crime drama Nemes

Courtney A. Kemp’s next chapter is already locked in—this time with Apple TV.

Kemp has signed a new multiyear overall deal with Apple TV. The storyteller behind the Power Universe and the recently premiered crime drama Nemesis will work through her production company. End of Episode. to develop and create series exclusively for Apple TV. Apple TV will also have a first-look on film projects coming out of the deal.

Kemp is an Emmy-nominated creator, showrunner, writer and producer, and her career has been built on high-stakes, bold, character-driven storytelling. Her new slate arrives at a moment when Nemesis is gaining major traction: it is currently the No. 1 series in the U.S. and in 15 other countries on Netflix. At the same time, Power: Origins—the continuation of Power Book III: Raising Kanan—is currently shooting in New York.

The Power franchise sits at the center of her wider universe. Power marked Kemp’s debut as a creator and showrunner and followed James “Ghost” St. Patrick and his empire. Alongside Power: Origins and Power Book III: Raising Kanan. other spinoffs produced by End of Episode include Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book IV: Force.

Underlining why this deal feels like more than a routine network change is what came before it. In 2021. Kemp and End of Episode entered into a multiyear overall deal with Netflix. expanding their creative footprint to create stories about and from women. BIPOC. and LGBTQ+ voices. That relationship also produced Nemesis, which recently premiered at No. 3 on Netflix and then made the Top 10 list in 71 different countries, with 7.1M views.

Kemp framed the Apple deal in terms of opportunity and audience reach. She told Deadline today. “I’m so grateful to Zack [Van Amburg]. Apple is the perfect place to develop my next projects. Apple TV says Kemp will continue using her platform to champion and create opportunities for greater inclusion within the industry and grow as a household name. Kemp is represented by CAA, and Gendler Kelly & Cunningham.
