Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid Reportedly Split

Courteney Cox, 62, and Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, 49, are reportedly ending their longtime relationship after more than 10 years together, with neither of them addressing the reported split publicly.

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have reportedly called it quits after more than 10 years together, ending a relationship that has been watched as closely as it has been celebrated.

On Saturday. June 27. multiple outlets including People and The Daily Mail reported that the Friends alum. 62. and the Snow Patrol musician. 49. recently ended their longtime relationship. Neither Cox nor McDaid has publicly addressed the reported separation. Us Weekly reached out to reps for both Cox and McDaid for comment but did not hear back at the time of publication.

Cox and McDaid were last publicly spotted together at the US Open in September 2025. The pair were twinning in black as they watched Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s singles final tournament.

The break. if confirmed. marks a sharp turn for a couple whose story has included both public moments and complicated chapters. Cox and McDaid were first introduced by mutual friend Ed Sheeran in 2013, and they began dating in September 2013. The relationship moved quickly after that: the pair got engaged the following year, briefly separating before eventually reconciling.

Cox later clarified the status of their engagement in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January 2019. “He’s not my fiancé. We were engaged to be married. but now we’re just together. ” she said. adding. “We broke off our engagement. and he moved to England. then we got back together. and it’s actually better than it was before.”.

Their journey has also included Cox speaking directly about what helped her during the hardest stretches. She revealed that going to therapy and setting “boundaries” helped her find her way back to McDaid. On a 2024 episode of Minnie Driver’s “Minnie Questions” podcast. Cox said. “I’m so thankful for that breakup because when we got back together it was a different relationship. but also because it really taught me how I operated in the world.” She continued. “I could understand what were the things from my childhood that I needed. whether it was to be adored by men. things that I didn’t know how to let go. to be in a relationship. to not take things personally. my boundaries. I just went into myself.”.

And when the engagement ended once before, Cox described it as emotionally intense. “I didn’t know it was coming,” she said at the time. “I was in so much pain, I also don’t like surprises. And he’s an incredible human being so he wasn’t trying to surprise me. He was in that much pain in the relationship. There was that much that needed to be dealt with that he had to protect himself around his heart.”.

Before Cox found her way to McDaid, she was married to David Arquette. The couple shares 22-year-old daughter Coco, and their marriage ran from 1999 to 2013.

Earlier than this reported split, Cox celebrated McDaid’s 48th birthday in July 2025 with an Instagram tribute that has since been deleted. “Happy birthday to the man who can do most anything,” she wrote, adding, “I love you always J ♥️♥️♥️.”
