Confirmed Chelsea line up vs Hull City
Xabi Alonso has made nine changes to his Chelsea side for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Hull City.
After a barnstorming midweek Carabao Cup tie, when the Blues came from two goals down to record a 6-3 win over Leeds United, it’s back to top-flight action this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
It’s Hull’s first Premier League visit since January 2017, and the newly-promoted Tigers arrive having taken seven points from their opening three fixtures without conceding a goal.
While several changes were made to Wednesday night’s starting XI, there are just two alterations to the side that began our last league outing against Arsenal in today’s team sheet.
Emi Martinez returns in goal for the Blues and is expected to be protected by a back three consisting of Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Jorrel Hato.
Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto are set to occupy the wing-back roles, with Reece James and Romeo Lavia in central midfield.
The front three of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro are reinstated into the starting XI, with Danny Welbeck among the Blues substitutes.
Chelsea: Martinez, Fofana, Colwill, Hato, Gusto, James (c), Lavia, Neto, Palmer, Rogers, Joao Pedro
Substitutes: Penders, Acheampong, Lacroix, Chavarria, Barco, Quenda, Gittens, Estevao, Welbeck
