A tightly watched slate of Georgia runoffs ended Tuesday, June 16, with two Republican nominees locked in place for national and statewide races—and the outcomes immediately set the board for November.

In the Peach State’s Senate contest, U.S. Rep. Mike Collins won the GOP nomination in a runoff, defeating football coach Derek Dooley. Collins is now set to face incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff this November in one of the most closely followed races of the packed midterm cycle.

The other major runoff carried its own political shock. President Donald Trump’s pick for governor, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, lost the Republican runoff to healthcare CEO Rick Jackson, who secured the nomination.

Vote percentages across the runoffs were reported with vote percentages according to the Associated Press and CNN, with an estimated 99% of votes counted in each of the statewide runoffs.

Georgia GOP Senate runoff results

Collins won Georgia’s Senate runoff with 55.5% of the votes, defeating Dooley, who finished with 44.5%. With an estimated 99% of votes counted, the result cleared a clear path to a November matchup against incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff.

Georgia governor runoff results

The gubernatorial race had already headed to a runoff after Jones and Jackson secured the most votes during the May 19 midterm primary but failed to reach a 50% majority. Jones entered the runoff with the benefit of Trump’s endorsement.

This time, Jackson prevailed. Rick Jackson won with 52.6% of the votes, defeating Jones, who finished with 47.4%. The campaign count showed an estimated 99% of votes counted. Jackson will face the Democratic nominee, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, in the general election.

Georgia House runoff results

The House races produced a new general-election matchup in Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. The runoff came after neither candidate won a majority on May 19. Democrats Joyce Griggs and Amanda Hollowell advanced to the runoff with 34.5% and 24.7% of the votes, respectively.

In the runoff, Hollowell pulled ahead. Amanda Hollowell won with 52.9% of the votes, defeating Griggs, who finished with 47.1%. With an estimated 99% of votes counted, Hollowell’s victory sets her against Republican Jim Kingston.

Kingston is running to replace Rep. Earl “Buddy” Carter, who did not seek reelection and instead ran for Senate.

The sequence across Georgia’s major races is stark: Collins moved forward to challenge a sitting senator after winning the GOP Senate runoff. while Jackson overturned Trump’s gubernatorial endorsement in the Republican governor runoff. On the congressional side. Hollowell’s win reshaped who will face Jim Kingston in the district race to succeed Buddy Carter.

With these nominations settled, attention turns to the general election matchups already taking shape: Collins versus Ossoff, Jackson versus Bottoms, and Hollowell versus Kingston.
