Ciaran Rosney counts blessings with three healthy daughters

Country music star Ciaran Rosney says fatherhood has taught him to count his blessings and cherish time spent with his children. The singer lives in Castleblayney with wife Jean and their three girls Sarah Jane, Della and Nainsí and says all of his daughters remind him of himself. Father’s Day can be hard to celebrate with life on the road, but Ciaran and his family will make sure to mark it. He told RSVP Magazine: “With a musician, it depends on what date it falls
on. I could have a gig on. “But normally my three girls, Sarah Jane, Della and Nainsí, bring me out for something to eat. “We don’t have particular traditions, but my girls always look after me very well.” Fatherhood has changed Ciaran’s life. He explained: “I have become more aware of things and I am always surprised by how much the kids are like me. “They’re always coming up with things that remind me of myself. “I’m very lucky to have three healthy kids who
are very good in school and well behaved. “My wife Jean and I count our blessings and cherish all the moments that we have with them while they’re still young. “I’ll always try to help them along the way the best they can.” Ciaran has a very close bond with his own dad, who he is named after, and says he is his hero. “Yes, me and my dad are very alike,” he told us. “He is also called Ciaran and he is my best
friend. “We work well together and he has been a very good helping hand to me over the years. “He’s very wise as well. My dad is my hero, really.” Ciaran Sr. was great for advice when Ciaran and Jean became parents . And the country star admires his dad’s determination and wisdom. He said: “Of course, he was always happy to give advice when I got married and became a father, giving tips on how to make things work and all that. “He has
a lot of great qualities. He doesn’t say much a lot of the time, but any time he does it’s always very wise! “He is very determined as well, when he makes his mind up that’s it, he goes and he does it. “We like all of the same things and we often go fishing together. “He’s getting on in his years and he has a few health problems, but he is an all round good guy.” Ciaran also praised his dad for being such
a caring grandad to his girls too. “He is a great grandad. The girls really love him,” he told us. “My daughter Sarah Jane rings him every night before she goes to sleep and she’ll sing him a song or play some music down the phone. “He has a very close relationship with the girls – they just love their grandad.” Read the full interview with Ciaran in our Father’s Day feature in this month’s issue of RSVP Magazine, on shelves nationwide now.
