Chatham Golden Eagles Send Two Players to Lambton Lions

The Lambton Lions softball program has bolstered its roster by signing two standout players from the Chatham Golden Eagles, Abigail Coffin and Sommer Dalgety.
The five-foot-seven Coffin is a Dresden native attending Lambton-Kent composite school.. “We’re excited to add another Golden Eagle to our roster with Abigail,” Lions head coach Richard Helps said in a statement.. “With Abigail’s ability to play all three spots in the outfield, and some innings in the infield if needed, she gives our roster a ton of flexibility.. “With the loss of some outfielders from last year’s team, we’re looking forward to having Abigail
come in and contribute right away.” Coffin likes being able to stay close to home while studying nursing and continuing to play softball.. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was a little girl, so I’m excited to join a new team and just experience everything that comes with being part of such a good team,” she said.. The five-foot-two Dalgety plays second and third base.. The Courtright native attends Great Lakes secondary school.. “Defensively, her
ability to play at two key positions in the infield gives us options for our lineup,” Helps said.. “Offensively, Sommer can get on base which will hopefully help us generate more offence.” She attended many Lions home games last fall at Sarnia’s Tecumseh Park.. “I’ll bring lots of energy (to the field),” she said.. “Just being there for my teammates, picking them up and helping the team in any way that I can.”
