Bedford crash, East Midlands Railway, RAIB, CCTV, red signal, Shaun Burton
Red signal and trains still hit?? how does that even happen.
So the CCTV shows red, then the article says it passed it. That sounds like someone ignored it or the system glitched. I don’t know, I feel bad for the driver.
Wait, was this in the US or UK? Bedford is in England right? But like… if it displayed red as it approached, doesn’t that mean they were warned? Maybe the train camera is wrong or they misread the footage. Trains shouldn’t be able to override a red like that.
RAIB saying the signal was red is gonna get blamed on everybody in the comments anyway. I keep thinking about those old stories where tech fails and the driver gets thrown under the bus. Also like “passed it”?? that part is weird, if it passed a red then what, the track system didn’t stop it. I’m just saying stuff doesn’t add up.
