Cavan Sullivan does LeBron chalk celebration after Union goal

play

Cavan Sullivan is on fire, and his latest goal came with a celebration that helped welcome Philadelphia’s newest superstar.

Sullivan scored in the second half of a 2-0 win against CF Montreal on Saturday, Sept. 5, then celebrated with the chalk toss made iconic by the new Philadelphia 76ers signing LeBron James.

The Union scored first in the 58th minute through Danley Jean Jacques, before Sullivan put the match away in the 75th minute.

Milan Iloski was sent through on goal but was unable to successfully dribble around Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza. But Sullivan was alertly following the play and got his reward when he put home the rebound.

The goal continued a scintillating run for the 16-year-old, who now has three goals and three assists in his last five matches.

The Union are making a late push for a playoff spot with six wins and two draws in their last eight MLS games.

Sullivan is looking like Philadelphia’s youngest sports star, and he’ll now be joined by one of the oldest. James signed a two-year deal with the Sixers in July, joining after eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. James will turn 42 in December.
