Carmen Electra: Dennis Rodman stayed in Vegas

Carmen Electra says Dennis Rodman stayed in Las Vegas after their 1998 wedding, spending the time at strip clubs and “hanging out with girls.” Nine days later, Rodman filed for an annulment, and their marriage quickly unraveled.

When Carmen Electra finally agreed to marry Dennis Rodman in 1998, she expected the celebration to end with something steadier—going home together.

Instead, she says Rodman stayed in Las Vegas, keeping the party going as if the wedding had changed nothing at all. Electra later described the moment on Brooke Goff’s Legally Goff podcast, recalling that she thought they were “married now” and that he would fly home with her.

“I remember thinking he would,…you know, we’re married now…he’s going to go home with me. He’s going to fly home with me. and he stayed in Vegas. and I know what happens in Vegas. ” Electra said. “He’s at the strip clubs. He’s hanging out with girls, and I kept saying like, ‘Well, we’re married. Don’t you want to come home with me when I work?. You know, we just got married.’”.

In her telling, the tension wasn’t theoretical. She knew Rodman’s personality, his patterns, and what he tended to do. Still, she said she kept pushing the idea that marriage meant he should come with her—especially when she had work ahead.

“He didn’t want to,” Electra said.

She also described how exhausting the days around the wedding were, saying she had been on a private jet and that she was “exhausted” and “crying all day while we were shooting.”

What made the whole situation feel sharper was how quickly it turned into an ending. Nine days after their November 1998 wedding in Las Vegas, Rodman filed for annulment, stating that he was of “unsound mind” when he and Electra got married.

Their marriage didn’t just fade. It was cut off almost immediately, with the initial breakup followed by a short rekindling before they ultimately parted ways the following year.

Electra and Rodman both moved back into other relationships soon after. Rodman married Michelle Moyer in 2003, but Moyer filed for divorce in 2004. They spent years attempting to reconcile before separating in 2012. The couple have two children together: Dennis Jr. and Trinity, who plays for the United States Women’s National Football team.

Electra, meanwhile, married guitarist Dave Navarro in 2003. Their relationship became the subject of an MTV reality television series titled “Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave.” Electra and Navarro separated in 2006, and their divorce was finalized in 2007.

The story now circles back to the same nerve—those days in Vegas. where Electra says marriage didn’t lead to home. companionship. or calm. It led to a man staying out. her watching the party continue. and then. only nine days later. an annulment filed on grounds that stripped the wedding of its certainty.
