Bueckers’ circus and-1 lifts Wings past Sky

Bueckers’ circus – Paige Bueckers delivered a wild and-1 highlight mid–second quarter and finished with 19 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, two steals and one block as the Dallas Wings edged the Chicago Sky 93-92 on Saturday night.

Midway through the second quarter, Paige Bueckers backed down her defender and pulled off a wild shot that drew the foul—setting up the and-one moment that kept the Dallas Wings in rhythm against the Chicago Sky.

Saturday night didn’t just belong to the highlight reel, though. It belonged to the kind of tight execution that matters when a season is still building toward something bigger. In her second WNBA year with Dallas. Bueckers is trying to help the Wings turn their momentum into something more permanent—moving from the lottery toward the playoffs within two years—and the performance against Chicago felt like another step in that direction.

Bueckers played both sides of the floor in the Wings’ 93-92 victory, leading Dallas with a stat line of 19 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, two steals and one block. She shot 7-of-16 from the field, including 1-of-5 from beyond the arc, and went 4-of-4 at the free-throw line.

The win also came with clear support. Jessica Shepard finished with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Azzi Fudd added 13 points and five rebounds. Arike Ogunbowale chipped in 12 points and three rebounds as four Dallas players reached double figures.

With the result, Dallas improved to a 10-6 record on the season and sits in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. They are ahead of the Portland Fire and the Los Angeles Sparks, while trailing the Golden State Valkyries and the Las Vegas Aces.

Next up, the Wings won’t have long to savor it. Dallas travels for its next matchup against the Seattle Storm on June 22 at 10 p.m. ET.

  1. 93-92 is super close… guess the refs just decided to keep it tight or something. 7-of-16 sounds bad but she still got 19 so idk.

  2. Bueckers with 8 assists and 7 rebounds right? I feel like I’ve seen her do this exact thing before, like in college. Also why are they talking about lottery-to-playoffs like it’s guaranteed, the league changes so fast. Did Dallas really get better this season, or is this just one game?

  3. Wings vs Sky and it’s basically a coin flip every time… I don’t even know who’s on what team half the time. If Paige had 1 block and 2 steals that’s cool but 1-of-5 from 3 feels like she was missing on purpose? And why is Seattle getting mentioned like they’re next to ruin their momentum, lol.
