Bueckers and Fudd lead Wings to 89-76 win

Bueckers and – Paige Bueckers scored 22 points and Azzi Fudd added 17 as the Dallas Wings closed with calm control for an 89-76 win over the Toronto Tempo on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Paige Bueckers walked into Coca-Cola Coliseum as the first-overall pick again—and she looked like she belonged there right away. The Dallas Wings guard finished with 22 points, added seven assists and three rebounds in nearly 31 minutes, and then made it impossible for the Tempo to steal the finish.

Azzi Fudd. also a first-overall draft pick. chipped in 17 points as the pair helped deliver an 89-76 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Sunday afternoon. It was the fifth straight game Bueckers has scored at least 20 points. and her backcourt push didn’t just set the tone—it kept the Wings in charge from the first jump.

Dallas scored their first nine points from three-point range and never surrendered the lead. By halftime, the Wings were ahead 47-42, and even as Toronto fought to stay attached to the game, Dallas maintained the rhythm that matters in a road test.

Jessica Shepard anchored the interior with a double-double: 14 points and 15 rebounds, giving the Wings the kind of steady presence that turns close possessions into secure ones.

Marina Mabrey returned to the Tempo lineup after missing the previous game with a neck injury. and she carried Toronto’s offense with 19 points. five assists and five rebounds. The storyline still ended with Toronto trying to catch up. The Tempo entered Sunday with injuries that hit their rotation hard. with star guard Brittney Sykes (left foot). rookie Kiki Rice (left ankle) and Temi Fagbenle (left eye) all out. Point guard Julie Allemand was a late scratch with a left ankle injury.

Dallas also won the battle of second chances and control of the glass. The Wings out-rebounded the Tempo 42-35, including 16-13 on offensive rebounds and 26-22 on the defensive glass. On top of that, Dallas outscored Toronto 20-6 on second-chance points.

As the fourth quarter tightened. Bueckers took over in the simplest way—two free throws midway through the period that effectively sealed the victory. The final numbers reflected it: another day where the Wings stayed composed. and another day where Toronto’s chances were narrowed by rebounds. effort. and timing.

It was the first meeting between the Wings (13-8) and the Tempo (9-11).

Next for Dallas: a trip to New York City to take on the Liberty on Tuesday. Toronto will host the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday.

  1. 89-76 ain’t even that close. Also I swear Toronto always has like 10 injuries, so idk how much that matters. Dallas shooting threes first nine points from three and then just coasted?

  2. Paige Bueckers being the first overall pick again?? Like she got drafted twice or something lol. Either way Shepard 14 and 15 rebounds sounds wild. Not even sure why it says first overall again though.

  3. Tempo’s “left eye” out?? That’s crazy, but Dallas still should’ve had a tougher time. I watched one clip and it looked like Toronto was only missing one player, not like the whole rotation. Then it says second chance points 20-6 like that’s all on them smh. Now Dallas goes to New York… Liberty better watch out, but I guess injuries will decide it anyway
