Bryson DeChambeau Doubts Moon Footage as Conspiracy Talk Spreads

Bryson DeChambeau told The Katie Miller Podcast that he doesn’t think the original moon landing footage is real, even as he believes the U.S. went to the moon—an opinion he shared alongside comments that have repeatedly pulled him into controversy, including v
When Bryson DeChambeau sat down to talk on “The Katie Miller Podcast,” he didn’t just touch on golf. He turned to the moon.
During the episode, the two-time major winner said he doesn’t believe the original moon landing footage is real. “I don’t think the footage is real,” DeChambeau said. He followed that by adding that he thinks the trip happened anyway. “But I think we did go to the moon. I don’t know about the footage.”.
DeChambeau’s comments came in a discussion that started with whether he believed astronaut Alan Shepard really played golf on the moon. Instead of answering directly and moving on, he broadened the question to the authenticity of the Apollo 11 footage itself.
He also referenced “Artemis,” saying, “Artemis just went around the moon. So I do believe if we spent a lot of our resources like they say we did, I think we did (go to the moon).”
Conspiracy theorists have long pointed to perceived gaps in the Apollo-era video, including the absence of stars in the background and alleged inconsistencies in shadows and topography. DeChambeau’s skepticism landed in that same orbit, even as he stopped short of rejecting the mission outright.
The reach of his remarks doesn’t end with space.
In the same podcast. DeChambeau was asked about divisive topics including gender roles and his relationship with President Donald Trump. and he didn’t avoid them. He has also previously attracted criticism for remarks such as calling Augusta National a “Par 67.” His name has also been tied to feuds. including a run-in with future LIV teammate Brooks Koepka.
More recently, DeChambeau’s public statements have included calls for forgiveness for Saudi involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a position that drew backlash amid his move to LIV Golf.
That pattern of controversy has made him a lightning rod—one he seems aware of, even as he uses the spotlight to talk about what comes next.
On the podcast, DeChambeau was also asked whether he would focus more on playing golf or creating content. He said his YouTube channel—nearly 3 million subscribers—has become a major part of his income picture. and he estimates that golf and content creation make him about the same amount of money right now. “If you’re up at that level and content creation, they are very, very similar,” he said.
He also admitted that he believes LIV Golf could be coming to an end. At the same time, he raised uncertainty about his own path in the sport, pointing to the question of whether he can return to the PGA Tour.
The thread running through the episode is clear in the way he talks about both matters of faith—whether the footage is real—and matters of career, where he sees his future hinging on forces he can’t fully control.
For now. DeChambeau’s claims about moon footage have added another headline to a history that already includes disputes with high-profile figures and comments that have split opinion. Whether it’s golf. YouTube. or the next step in his playing career. he appears to prefer saying the quiet parts out loud—sometimes even when the topic reaches far beyond the fairway.

So he thinks the moon footage is fake but we still went?? ok
I knew he was gonna say some weird stuff. Like first it’s golf then suddenly moon conspiracies? They never just let people be good at one thing.
Wait, are they saying he doubts Apollo 11 footage but believes Artemis? That doesn’t even make sense to me. Artemis “went around the moon” so therefore the old footage is fake…? People really reach lol.
The stars not showing in the footage is like… actually a thing though. Cameras and exposure and all that, sure, but still. Also the shadow angles thing, I’ve heard that before. He’s kinda right but then again who knows, he also says random controversy golf stuff so maybe he’s just talking to get clicks. I’m just tired.
