Jade Fiegen says Jonathon Cooper threw her, lifted her by the neck, punched a wall, and damaged her phone during an altercation at the Denver Broncos star’s residence. Cooper and Fiegen were both arrested for domestic violence and criminal mischief after polic
Thursday night ended with flashing lights, but the details described in incident documents cut deeper than the arrests.
Jade Fiegen, identified in the paperwork, told police that during an argument at Jonathon Cooper’s Denver Broncos residence she threw Cooper’s phone against a wall. The dispute, she said, grew out of alleged infidelity.
Fiegen’s version describes a moment that quickly turned physical. As she tried to leave the apartment. she said she took Cooper’s phone. unlocked it to read messages and then Cooper approached. She claimed he grabbed her by the neck with one hand. lifted her off her feet and pressed her against the wall.
In the arrest affidavit, Fiegen said Cooper held her up in the air for around one minute. During that time, she claimed he managed to get his phone back. Fiegen said he let her go, but then picked her up and threw her on the ground three times.
She told officers Cooper then punched the wall next to her face. Fiegen said she ran deeper into the apartment in fear as Cooper continued to tell her to leave.
The affidavit says Fiegen told police she grabbed her and tugged her toward the floor and that she was “unable to get up.” She also claimed Cooper told her to leave his home or he would break her phone. When she described him putting the phone in his mouth and damaging the device. she said it was damaged in a way that meant messages and voice notes from her late mother could not be replaced. Fiegen said Cooper was aware of that.
After that, Fiegen said she got up and left the residence.
She told officers she did not lose consciousness at any point in the incident. She also said she did not see spots—details she said would have been consistent with strangulation.
The report also includes what the responding officer observed. The officer said there was a small mark on Fiegen’s neck where she said Cooper grabbed her. along with a cut on her hand and scratches on her arm. But the officer noted the markings did not appear consistent with what Fiegen alleged Cooper did to her.
Cooper’s account in the affidavit points a different direction. He told officers he held Fiegen by her arms to get his phone back. He later said he braced his neck against hers to keep her from retrieving it again.
Fiegen was transported to a nearby hospital to be checked out by a forensic nurse examiner, and she was ultimately booked in jail for domestic violence and criminal mischief. Cooper was also arrested for domestic violence and criminal mischief.
