CM Punk retains the WWE title, Oba Femi stuns Brock Lesnar and SummerSlam Night One sets up a huge Sunday finale in Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS — WWE star Brie Bella suffered a shoulder injury during SummerSlam 2026 and “it seems pretty bad,” WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque said Saturday night.
Bella, the WWE Hall of Famer, was injured in the six-person tag team match with sister Nikki and Paige against Fatal Influence during SummerSlam 2026 night one on Aug. 1.
Though nothing is known definitively at this time, it appears Brie Bella was injured when Jacy Jayne did a dive on her against the steel steps on her right shoulder. Bella was holding it for the rest of the match, and even after the loss, when her and her sister turned on Paige, Bella couldn’t take part in the attack.
Triple H: Brie Bella injury is serious
After the event, Levesque confirmed Bella suffered an injury that required her to be taken to a local hospital.
”Don’t have a clean answer on it yet. I know she hurt her shoulder. Seems pretty bad, but I don’t have that answer yet,” he said. “Hopefully we will soon, and hopefully it won’t be as bad as we thought it was, but that’s the nature of the game.
“It’s unfortunately part of our business.”
It’s an unfortunate injury for Bella as it comes just after sister Nikki came back after dealing with a leg injury that kept her out of action for WrestleMania, resulting in Paige’s inclusion.
The turn against Paige also set the stage for an upcoming feud with the star, but that may have to be put on hold or adjusted with Brie Bella possibly out of action.
Levesque said WWE would pivot accordingly with plans depending on the diagnosis.
