Bridgeview woman – Alexia Castellanos, 19, faces multiple charges after Chicago police say she fired shots at officers during a chase in Brighton Park in April, injuring no one with the gunfire but leaving people hurt from a crash.
A Bridgeview woman is scheduled to appear in court Thursday after Chicago police said she fired at officers during a chase in Brighton Park in April, turning a routine stop into a night of running, crash, and gunfire.
Alexia Castellanos, 19, is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm at police. Police also listed two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. along with a charge of aggravated possession of a weapon in a vehicle by someone younger than 21.
According to Chicago police, officers stopped a vehicle carrying Castellanos and two men inside the 4400 block of South Mozart Avenue at 1:12 a.m. April 25. The vehicle then fled. Police said Castellanos fired shots at officers in the 2800 block of West 45th Street.
The chase ended when the car crashed in the 2900 block of West 47th Street. Police said Castellanos fired again at officers after the crash.

So she fired shots but nobody got hit? Sounds like the police just wanted a reason.
19 and it’s attempted first-degree murder?? That charge always seems insane to me. Also how did the crash injuries happen if nobody was shot?
Wait, was this the same Brighton Park thing where somebody stole a car? I swear I saw a TikTok about it like a week ago. If she “fired after the crash” then why would they stop the vehicle at all?
Attempted first-degree murder over a chase is wild. They said no one was struck but “people hurt from a crash” so technically it’s still on her. And why is there a charge for a weapon in a vehicle by someone under 21—like that part always gets people punished more than anything else.
